Welcome to Attention Matters, the newsletter from Storythings which gives you practical insights and tools on how to tell better stories and grow your audiences’ attention.

Hello!

The team at Storythings comes from a very diverse background, from marketing and non-profits to major broadcasters and brands. But we all share one thing in common - we’re all fans.

What does it mean to be a fan? For us, it means there are creative works - films, books, songs, podcasts, games, etc - that you keep coming back to again and again. It might be that the work or the people behind it inspired you at a crucial stage of your career, or its something you come back to again and again, finding new inspiration from it every time.

That kind of passion for creativity is at the heart of everything we do at Storythings. So when we started to develop our next B2B format, we wanted to move away from business and metrics, and celebrate the thing that gets out of bed every morning - creativity.

We’ve spent the last few months working with some very kind B2B CMOs on prototyping the format and how we wanted to present it. We wanted to break away from the aesthetics of traditional B2B formats, and go for something more, well, fun.

Our first episode with Glyn Britton, Chief Experience Officer at SQE is live now on Youtube, so you can follow us there or subscribe on the show website.

We’d love your feedback on the show, and if you are a marketing leader in B2B and want to be on the podcast, hit reply and we’ll be in touch!

Next week I’ll be sharing five things we’ve learnt making this new format, and why all of them are ultimately about one thing - WORKFLOW.

Seriously, solving creative workflow problems is about 50% of the work we do for our clients, and it’s no different when we are making our own formats.

See you next week!

Matt
