NEW SERIES: How To Make Attention Grabbing B2B Formats

We're making a new B2B Format at Storythings, and we're going to share what we're doing every step of the way.

Welcome to Attention Matters, the newsletter from Storythings which gives you practical insights and tools on how to tell better stories and grow your audiences’ attention.

Hello!

Back in summer when we finished our last series on prototyping, I asked what you wanted to see in the next series. The results were split between how to pilot new content formats, and how to develop sustainable workflows:

Over summer, we’ve been discussing making a new creative format for B2B CMOs, so we thought we’d use Attention Matters to share what we’re doing every step of the way. We’re going to share raw notes, research, pilots, testing, design, production - everything. And I’d love to get your feedback and comments as well, especially if you’re trying out a new format as well.

Making a new format is not a linear path, so this will be a bit different from the usual Attention Matters series. Instead of mostly text, we’re going to share screengrabs from our Miro boards, interviews with the team, early prototypes - everything. It’s going to be something like a cross between the popular weeknotes blogging format and the kind of red-string conspiracy walls you see in Netflix shows. It will be a bit messy, but then making something awesome is always a bit messy.

So - starting from next week, I’ll share an update on what we’re doing, explain a bit about the processes we use at Storythings, and hopefully give you some practical insights. I’d love to include questions or stories from all of you as well, to make this really feel like a creative community.

To start with, here’s my first call out - I want to recruit a group of people to give us creative feedback on our formats. If you’d like to be part of this group - it will only take a tiny bit of your time! - then hit the button below.

As a teaser, here’s a screenshot of a Miro board we created when we were developing ideas for the value proposition for this new series. I told you it was going to be messy!

See you next week!

Matt
